Future of the Fox Inn

Inspited by the Titfield Thunderbolt (or at least I was!) around 40 residents turned up to discuss the future of the Fox Inn following the announcement of its sale by Enterprise Inns. The discussion led by the Parish Council detailed the implications of the pub’s listing as an Asset of Community Value (ACV), timescales and key issues (viability, funding, ownership and organisation models).  This initial meeting to gauge interest identified a significant number of volunteers, relevant skills and expertise within the community plus some funding pledges.  If you are interested in becoming involved in the campaign to create a community pub for Loxley please speak to one of your Councillors. Many thanks to John and Lisa for hosting and their thoughtful contributions. Further details available at www.pubisthehub.org

Local Elections – 2 May 2019

Local government elections will be held on 2 May, 2019, when all six seats on Loxley Parish Council will be contested. Serving Councillors can choose to stand for re-election but may not do so and, in the interests of democracy, it would be preferable for more than six candidates to contest the vacant seats. The idea of standing for election may be daunting but there is support available for prospective Councillors.  There is further information on the the Warwickshire Association of Local Councils (WALC) website. WALC represents and advises parish and town councils.  If you require further information, or wish to speak to one of the sitting Councillors, please contact the Parish Chair, Glynn Jones on loxleyparishchair@gmail.com. He will provide further information or arrange for you to have a chat with a serving Councillor.
